RESEARCH INTEREST
Rev. Dr. Amos Olayemi AKANDE, native of Ogbomoso in Ogbomoso North Local Government area, Oyo State. He was born on Wednesday, March 26 1986, in Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He has a loving wife, Beatrice Oluwabukolami Akande (Nee Oladokun), three godly, Christ-loving children (Bethel, Tehillah and Rhema). Olayemi attended Primary and Secondary schools in Nigeria among which are Samaru Primary School, Makera-Kaduna, Government Secondary School, Government Day Secondary and Baptist Comprehensive School, Kontagora, Niger State. He attended higher institution in Nigeria. They are Sokoto State Polytechnic, Sokoto, the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso and Lead City University, Ibadan. Olayemi holds WAEC secondary school certificate (2006), National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (2008), Bachelor in Religious Education (2017), Master in Religious Education (2019), and presently pursuing his terminal Degree in Mass Communication and Media Technology at Lead City University, Ibadan.
Olayemi gave his life to Jesus Christ in the year 2003 and received the call into pastoral ministry. He enrolled into the Nigeria Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso for his first theological training in 2013. He is passionate about soul-wining, evangelism and church planting. Among several places, after his call to the ministry, Olayemi has served as Pastor, Orisun-Iye Baptist Church (Temidire), Ogbomoso, and Church planter and Pioneer Pastor of Christ Life Baptist Church, Ogbomoso. Olayemi has served as the Assistant Media Officer and Media Officer at the prestigious Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, since 2017 until he joined the Faculty of Education, Department of Teacher Education as Assistant Lecturer on August 1, 2022.
He is known as a committed facilitator of the Introduction to Ministry course, Religious Education Media, Religious Education of Adults, Principles and Dynamics of Teaching and the Baptist Cooperative Programme, among other courses. In addition, Olayemi enjoys surfing the net, travelling, listening to music and socializing with others.
