RESEARCH INTEREST
Dr Edward Obukokwo Nnanna is a devoted theologian, educator, and minister whose multicultural heritage profoundly shapes his life and calling. Born and raised in Ibadan to Igbo and Urhobo parents, Dr Nnanna grew up immersed in diverse cultural and religious contexts—an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for interreligious and intercultural understanding.
Specialising in World Religions with a particular focus on Islam, he is driven by a vision to bridge divides and foster peaceful coexistence among faith communities. As a KAICIID Fellow, he actively engages in interreligious and intercultural dialogue, working to address misconceptions and prejudices in order to promote mutual understanding and reconciliation. His research focuses on controversial and conflict-prone areas between religions, reflecting his commitment to creating an atmosphere of healing and cooperation.
Dr Nnanna is also deeply passionate about ministering to teenagers, young adults, and children from broken homes, firmly believing that compassionate mentorship can transform individual lives and, by extension, entire communities. In his professional roles, he serves as a lecturer in the Department of Intercultural Studies, Academic Affairs Officer, and Master of Divinity Programme Coordinator.
Beyond his academic and ministerial responsibilities, Dr Nnanna cherishes his family as his first and most important ministry, viewing it as the foundation for embodying and modelling Christlike love and service.
