We give glory, honour and adoration to almighty God for the success recorded during the events of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary Staff School (NBTSSS) on 19th September, 2024. May His name be praised forever!
The programme started with a rally round the Seminary community. The rally consisted of both the teachers and the pupils in the school. Adorned in the special anniversary t-shirt and choice (mostly black) skirts or trousers, the tone was set for celebration as teachers and pupils sang, danced and jubilated, defying the gathering clouds and drizzles of rain on the said day.
The school crowd, led by the headteacher, visited the President of the Seminary, who graciously adjourned an ongoing Development Committee meeting to attend to us. Also present with him were the Deputy Presidents (DPs), Administration and Advancement, and the Registrar of the Seminary. The President, Rev. Prof. Stepen Ayankeye greeted the staff and students, congratulated the Headmistress, teachers, staff and students. He charged the crowd, congratulating them for being part of laudable history. He had words of encouragement and guidance for all and so did the other officers. The Registrar, Rev. Dr Dele Oluwole, charged pupils to keep up good relationships beyond Staff school. The DP Advancement, Prof. Olusola Ayo-Obiremi, led in singing the school anthem and prayed for the teachers and students, at the instance of the Seminary President.
After returning to the school premises the formal programme started at exactly 10.am. Almost all the ex-teachers and ex-Head teachers graced the occasion. The Deputy President Administration (Dr G. A. Oyeniyi), the Director of Commercial Services (Rev. Soji Ojo) and some parents were also present. Rev. Mrs Taiwo Ayeni, (the Ancillary schools Chaplain) led in the opening prayer while Rev. Dr Samson Okediji led the charge and word of exhortation. Some classes of the school gave presentations during the programme as well. The Director of Commercial Services, Rev. Soji Ojo encouraged teachers to continue to move the school forward. Then the 30th anniversary cake was cut. The closing prayer was said by the Deputy President Administration, Rev. Dr Oyeniyi. We all praise God for the privilege of being part of the history-making event.
