WMS FOCUS DAY

The Women Missionary Society of the Women’s Training Center- NBTS observed the Women Missionary Union Focus Week on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Since the program was held for just a day, it was called WMS Focus Day.

The theme for the year, Entering into Newness through Fasting and Prayer, tied in perfectly with the anchor scripture, Ezra 8:23: “So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He answered our prayer.” In her charge on the theme and text, Mrs Taiwo Bello encouraged the women to see fasting and prayer as very important tools to combat life challenges, especially those peculiar to women for missions.

Another highlight of the program was a drama presentation depicting the power of fasting and prayer. It emphasizes that fasting should come from a sincere heart, with humility, repentance, faith, and focus. Women were challenged to encourage their family members to cultivate the spiritual discipline of fasting and prayer.

The program was completed with a prayer session led by Revd Precious Oyebanji, singing the popular hymn, Sweet Hour of Prayer, with renewed and ready to walk into newness through fasting and prayer minds.
