On Tuesday, September 9, 2025; while the adults gathered at the NBTS Multipurpose Hall for the morning session between the hours of 8am and 1pm, the children also had a rich and engaging time of learning at the Women’s Training Centre. Different age groups were catered for: preschoolers, primary school aged children, and teenagers, ensuring that every child was ministered to at their own level.
The children’s theme was drawn from the general conference focus ‘The Gospel Minister and His Relationships’, and was titled: ‘Kingdom Children and Their Relationships.’ Two Bible stories were selected for study: Amnon and Tamar (2 Samuel 13:1–13) and Dorcas and Her Neighbours (Acts 9:36–42). Each was the Bible lesson for the two-day programme organised for children who were around for the Ministers’ Conference.

On the first day of the children’s sessions, the story of Amnon and Tamar was explored. The children were guided to understand the hurtful and irrational behaviour of Amnon, the resultant consequences, and the need to avoid such destructive patterns in society. In contrast, they were encouraged to embrace values of righteousness, love, and respect for one another, living in ways that are pleasing to God.

The teaching was complemented with fun and age-appropriate activities which encouraged meaningful thinking and social interaction. Younger children enjoyed cartoon videos that illustrated the lesson, along with singing and dancing sessions that made the atmosphere lively and welcoming. Teenagers engaged in deeper discussions and practical applications of the story. The session was further enriched with creative activities and light refreshments, which added to the joy and beauty of the gathering. There were about 150 children and teenagers in all in attendance.

The ministers were mainly students from the Seminary’s Faculty of Education Students’ Fellowship, led by the Coordinator and Vice Coordinator of the fellowship, Pastors TOlulope Owoade and Samuel Adewale. The events of the day ended with children not only having fun but also leaving with practical lessons for building godly relationships as true “Kingdom children.” We praise God and thank the Seminary leadership for an inclusive Ministers’ Conference where even children were catered for.
