Students and staff resumed for academic and administrative responsibilities on Monday, January 5, 2026. It was a time of happiness and exchange of pleasantries for many. As the first chapel service for the year held, God used Rev. Dr Ben Akano to challenge members of the Seminary community to be mission minded by joining in God’s purpose of kingdomnisation through being His witnesses and not just doing witnessing. Taking his text from Acts 1, especially verses 6 – 8; Dr Akano challenged all in the community to remember that the relationship with the Trinity is the foundation and prerequisite for ministry empowerment. In his homily, he called attention to the need to empty oneself of all sin and things God is not pleased with; to go to God empty so as to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The chapel service ended on the note of a plea for God to fill our cups and make us whole for His empowerment this year and beyond.
