It was a graceful occasion at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary on the 30th of June 2023, as Rev. Prof. Ezekiel Emiola Nihinlola handed over to Rev Prof. Stephen Oladele Ayankeye having completed his tenure as the president, serving meritoriously in this capacity from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2023.
The handing over programme featured, and in fact began with, a book presentation in symbolic recognition of the faithfulness of God over the 10 years of service as NBTS president. The book “ Great Rewards for Faithfulness: Dynamic Stewardship Teachings ” written by Rev. Prof. Emiola Nihinlola was reviewed by Rev Prof. John Enyinnaya and presented by Rev Dr V.S.A. Dada.
The second part of the programme was the welcome service for the new president, Rev. Prof Stephen Oladele Ayankeye, whose tenure begins on July 1, 2023. The registrar, Rev. Dr Dele Oluwole, gave a brief report on the selection process for the new president. Then Rev. Prof Emiola Nihinlola handed over the baton of leadership to Rev. Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye. Rev. Dr E A Bamigboye (a retired faculty member) gave the charge and prayer of dedication and commitment was led by Rev. Dr J.D. Adeleru.
Thereafter, the new president gave his speech, stating that it is a tenure of consolidating the NBTS vision. The seminary community welcome the new president.
