
The Student Body Week of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS), Ogbomoso took place from February 24-27, 2025, featuring a range of exciting programmes that fostered unity, creativity, and spiritual growth among students.
On Monday, 24th February, we had a Community Service event tagged “Operation no Cobwebs.” Students across all levels were present in the multi-purpose hall to clean it as part of our contribution to the community. The activity kick-started around 5pm. While some students took care of cobwebs on the Multipurpose Hall rafters, others swept, and yet others mopped the tiled part of the floor of the Multipurpose Hall. It was a wonderful experience as we teamed up with the student physical planning and organization team.
Tuesday, 25th February, featured a friendly football match between the Baptist College of Theology Oyo (BACOTHO) Team and the NBTS Team.


It was a friendly football match with our sister institution, Baptist College of Theology, Oyo. The match took place at the NBTS school field. Our guests were received by the Student Body, present are the Assistant Director of Student Affairs (ADSA) in person of Dr Raphael Oparinde; and the Deputy President Administration (Associate Professor Gabriel Oyeniyi) upon arrival. The match ended with the NBTS Team scoring three goals and the BACOTHO team scoring one goal. BACOTHO students returned to Oyo that same day to the glory of God. It was indeed a time of fellowship.
On Wednesday, 26th February, the Revival Hour was held, with Rev. Dr Philip Oyewale from Pentecost Baptist Church, Liverpool, as the Guest Minister. The event started 5pm prompt at the Multipurpose Hall. The programme featured music, prayers, and ministrations in various forms.

Inclusive were ‘prayer uproar’ sessions led by Pastor Shola Adeyemo (The Student Body Religious Affairs Officer), Rev. Akusa Danlami Gajere (The Student Body President); worship/prophetic worship sessions led by Pastors Zugwai Yakubu and Pamilerin Bamikunle respectively, instrumentals, and ministrations in Word and prayers led by the guest minister, Rev. Dr Philip Oyewale tagged ‘There Shall Be No Loss’. Pastor ‘Yemi Oyeleru was the moderator for the occasion; and the Student Body Secretary, Pastor. ‘Segun Oyelowo made announcements. Rev. Drs Raphael Oparinde (Assistant DSA) and Olaide Ajeigbe (NBTS Chaplain) were also on the programme. It was a time of impartation and a great encounter with God.
Thursday, February 27, was a day tagged ‘Open Forum’. There were morning, afternoon and evening sessions. The morning session started around 9am. It was a finance seminar led by Dr Philip Oyewale. He emphasised the importance and necessity of finance in deploying the gospel to the nations. The Gospel is made easier with finance. He underscored that only God gives finance without adding sorrow to it and that it is important to do business regardless of how small or big.
The afternoon session was a seminar session facilitated by Rev Prof Simon Kolawole and Rev Dr Wale Olajire. They spoke on ‘Denominational Intelligence’ and ‘Personal and Pastoral Development’ respectively. Rev Seth Danjuma Wambai and Pastor Ayomide Mayekogbon were the moderators of the session.
The evening session featured ‘banquet and dinner night’ in the Multipurpose Hall. ‘Red carpet’ moderated by Pastor Lekan Ogundare started 4pm. The main event, which was banquet and dinner night, started at 5pm. The Masters of Ceremony (MCs) were Pastors Fola Adeniyi and Timothy Akano. More than 700 students were present, all were fed. The meals available were rice and also amala with gbegiri and eweedu soup.

The event rounded off with Thanksgiving done class by class. . . . In the spirit of Thanksgiving, each class made pledges of financial commitment to the Student Body. We praise God for such a week of spiritual, physical and all-round interaction and growth. Glory to God!
