The nomination of the Student Electoral Committee (SELECO) was constituted on 18^th March, 2026, during the March congress of the Student Body. The nomination spanned the seminary’s academic levels, with at least one returning officer who had previously served in SELECO. The committee comprised of seven persons according to the Student Body constitution.

Fasting and prayer to seek God’s direction took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Contestants for the various posts were divided into categories ‘A’ and ‘B’. ‘Category A’ consisted of the President, Vice President 1, General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary. Posts grouped in Category B on the other hand, were the Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Sports Director, Benevolence Officer, Religious Affairs Officer, and the Social Director. Manifesto Night for the contestants in ‘Category B’ held on Monday, April 13, 2026. Presidential Debate for those in ‘Category A’ held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The Election Day was Wednesday, April 15, 2026, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. The election was conducted electronically, with voters logging into their portals to cast their votes for their preferred candidate. At the same time, the Women’s Training Centre (WTC) students cast their votes manually. Faculty members were involved to validate the electioneering process. Dr Olaide Ajeigbe helped set up the election portal, and Dr Faith Opade served as the election observer. The elections were adjudged free and fair. A few moments after the election process, the SELECO chairman announced the results. Names of elected officers for the 2026/2027 academic session are as follows:

The new Student Executive Council (SEC) members were presented on Thursday, April 16, 2026, during the chapel devotion, and the SELECO’s dissolution followed immediately. The dissolution of the outgoing executives and induction of the new Student Executive Council took place during the General Assembly on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.  We thank God for the smooth leadership succession and trust that God will do greater things through the new team by the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit at work in the individuals.
