
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Bivocational Ministry Conference held in the Conference Centre of The Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso’s tallest building; the Hybrid Library Extension. Among facilitators were Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye, the President; Prof. Olusayo Oladejo, Deputy President Academics, Prof. Olusola Ayo-Obiremi, Deputy President Advancement Dr Samuel Auda, Dean, Faculty of Church Music, and Dr Olalekan Fatiloro, Coordinator of the Conference. The Conference featured praises, music, hymn singing, teaching, discussion time and sharing of experiences by invited panelists involved in bivocational ministry.
As Prof. Ayo-Obiremi stated the purpose early in the conference, the Conference was targeted at enabling and empowering participants to GLOW by the time it was over. They were to G – grow in their understanding of Bivocational ministry, L- learn from God’s Word, facilitators and one another; O – be open-minded in their approach and W – work together. The President, Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye spoke on Biblical, Theological, Historical & Practical Foundations of Bi-Vocational Ministry, while Prof. O. B. Oladejo spoke on Denominational Position on Bi-Vocational Pastoral Ministry: The Challenge of Implementation.
In a panel discussion moderated by Dr Gabriel Oyeniyi; Rev. Dr Dele Oyedokun and Rev. Dr Owolabi Abiola shared their respective experiences in bi-vocational ministry. By the end of the conference, many participants acknowledged that their perspective was more positive, as they had learnt and would be more open-minded towards bivocational ministers, bivocational ministry, and working better together. It was indeed a conference that brought about growth, learning, an attitude of open-mindedness, and encouraged all to work together. To God be the glory!
