
Another great feat was celebrated at the Smith International Baptist Academy, Ogbomoso (SIBAO) on Wednesday March 27, 2026 as the Seminary President, Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye led Seminary principal officers to SIBAO to rededicate two blocks of classrooms recently renovated at the school. The programme started at 8:00 am with the opening prayer said by the Seminary Registrar, Rev. ’Segun Okunlola. The Deputy President Administration, who is also the Chairman of Management Board of the NBTS Commercial Services Dr Ademola Oyeniyi presided over the programme. Dr Oyeniyi welcomed the Seminary President, Deputy Presidents, members of Seminary Administrative Council and other dignitaries to the occasion.
The Director of Commercial Services, Rev. Olusoji Ojo gave a brief report on the renovation process that: the renovation included fixing of louvers frames and blades; repainting of the classrooms and offices within the two blocks; fixing of some doors; and repainting of the outer part of the laboratory block. He appreciated the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) of the school for the “push” they gave the management to carry out the renovation of the two buildings after the PTA renovated a block of classrooms in September 2025. Rev. Ojo introduced the contractor who carried out the work, Mr. Kayode Ogowole, and also appreciated the ad-hoc committee who worked together to ensure the success of the project.

The Seminary President, Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye, congratulated the staff and students of Smith International Baptist Academy (SIBAO). He commended the uniqueness of the institution based on the serene and attractive environment, high quality education, moral and godly character the school is known for and the great impact of the Alumni of the school in the society. He buttressed this as he introduced an alumna of SIBAO, Dr Mrs. Adebola Olatoye, who currently serves as the Acting Librarian of The Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso.

Afterwards, the President rededicated the building for the spiritual, moral, and intellectual development of students; and for building a generation that will turn people to God and transform the society. Prof. Ayankeye, the President, cut the tape, flanked by the Principal officers, Staff and onlookers. Miss Oluwadamisi Akanni, who held the tray bearing the scissors for cutting the tape was kept, was one of the onlookers and witnesses. She represented the students of SIBAO. Finally, the president recognized and appreciated Seminary principal officers, the Chairman Ancillary Education Management Committee, Dr Ruth Oyeniyi, members of the committee, and everyone present at the rededication.

Special prayers were offered for the school, its leadership, staff, and students by Prof. Olusola Ayo-Obiremi, Deputy President Advancement. The prayers focused on God’s protection, wisdom for the administrators, dedication among staff members, and all round growth for the students. The vote of thanks was taken by the school principal, Deacon Emmanuel Adewole, who expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the renovation and the rededication. Appreciation was extended to the President, Deputy Presidents, Ancillary Education Management Committee members, members of staff, and the students for their presence and cooperation. The closing prayer was said by Deacon Olutunde Fasipe, the seminary bursar and the President, Prof. S. Ola Ayankeye pronounced the benediction. Afterwards, photographs were taken.
