A service of tributes was held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in honour of Rev. Prof. Emiola Nihinlola, who served as the NBTS president from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2023.

The service features the reading of a brief academic profile of Rev Prof. Nihinlola with tributes read by representatives of Governing council, faculty and staff, student union, alumni, ICHE, scholar leaders international, the Nigerian Baptist Convention, head of theological institutions (HOTI) families and friends.

A few among many things that were said about Rev. Prof. Nihinlola was that He is loyal to Christ and His course, a strategic planner, a man of rugged faith, hardworking, selfless in service, iconic theologian, a passionate Christian, a writer, a missionary, a goal getter, a distinguished administrator; by his hands God has led the seminary to achieve great things in the last ten years, and thus, it was a decade of sustainability and revitalization indeed. He laboured to contribute to a legacy of integrity and honour of the NBTS.
