SPIRITUAL RETREAT: DIVINE PRESENCE

… “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here (Exodus 33:15). This plea of Moses was the plea of the NBTS community during the Spiritual Renewal retreat which held on August 24 and 25, 2023. The programme tagged “Divine Presence” was a landmark event. Students, staff and their families came together to seek God’s face as the academic session begins in earnest, after a time of orientation and registration. The Seminary President led the first of 3 sessions on Thursday, August 24, 2023, while Rev. Dr. Sola Lawal of Oore-ofe Oluwa Baptist Church, Ogbomoso the guest speaker, led the other two sessions.

Sharing God’s Word in clear and simple but meaningful terms, from examples of those who cultivated and experienced God’s Presence in Scripture as well as personal examples; the duo held the audience spell bound and touched by God’s Word. Seminary community members were encouraged to treasure God’s presence, seek assurance of divine presence from God’s Word, and keep their head in all situations. All the sessions ended in intense prayers, prophetic declarations and public decisions. Indeed, the NBTS family left the programme assured by God that “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest”
